1] Run Windows Update Troubleshooter

2] Rename SoftwareDistribution folder
Create a system restore point first.Stop Windows Update Service using Services.mscRename the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistributionOldRestart the Windows Update ServiceReboot computer.
3] Run SFC scan
The presence of corrupt/damaged system files can potentially trigger this error on Windows 11/10. In which case, you can run SFC scan.
